Takapuna Beach Reserve (Gould Reserve) sits on the white-sand beachfront between The Strand and the Hauraki Gulf, with two adjacent playgrounds. The main playground for older kids features a multi-level tower with covered slides, climbing nets and ladders, in-ground trampolines, a two-bay swing set, a hamster wheel and a seesaw. The smaller accessible playground beside the Changing Places bathroom has a self-propelled swing, accessible seesaw, large rocking truck, low climbing mound, communication board and singing-flower sensory features. The reserve also offers parking with mobility spaces, picnic tables, a BBQ, an outdoor shower and a drinking fountain.
