Shepherds Park is an Auckland Council reserve and sports ground at 31 to 35 Cresta Avenue in Beach Haven, named after the Shepherd family that farmed the area for several generations. The upgraded destination playground (celebrated in December 2025) leads with a large play structure of cargo nets, a climbing wall, monkey bars and double or enclosed tube slides, plus a carousel, basket swing, in-ground trampoline, wobbly bridge and a connected nature play area with balance beams and steppers under bush canopy. Learn-to-ride scooter and bike tracks loop the perimeter for younger riders. An electric BBQ, drinking fountain, toilet block and ample parking round out the package; gates open 7am to 9pm in summer. Best treated as a destination North Shore family stop.

This is a decent sized newly refurbished playground in the Shepherds Park premises in Beach Haven. The slides, rides and play area is well maintained and good for children of all ages. The parking is inside the Shepherd Park near the community center. Sitting benches are installed for parents who can watch the kids playing. Well recommended for kids.

A great new refurbished playground. Lots of stimulating activities for the kids to do. Make sure you have sunscreen if you are using the seats to watch the kids. They're in full sunlight. The playing area has the sunscreen sails.
