Riddiford Gardens is a 3.2-hectare horticultural civic park in central Lower Hutt dating from 1923, with a children's playground, a water-play feature in a sunken plaza on the site of the old Riddiford Baths, a basketball half court and a skater-friendly space. The Riddiford Pavilion provides fully accessible public toilets, coin-operated gas barbecues and event facilities. A stream weaves through the garden, so parental supervision near the water is recommended.

My kid loved running around seeing the baby ducklings. Well maintained little treasure in the heart of Lower Hutt. …

Nice, well kept with a nice space for the lit'luns. Shame the Aviary is no longer in use, it is rather worn. I do hope the council fix it and not demolish it. Adds to the park! Be advised though, Parking in the area is paid 7 days a week. Found that out the hard way after visiting on a Sunday :D
