Rangitāne Park is a 2.1-acre Palmerston North City Council reserve on Racecourse Road in Awapuni, with a stream running through. The playground is well-rated locally for an oversized ripple slide that fits multiple riders, alongside a flying fox, swings and a smaller slide, all on wheelchair-accessible paths; the rest of the park is open lawn used for dog walking, kick-a-ball and junior football in winter, with shaded picnic seating, toilets, drinking water and parking on site.

Rangitane Park Playground is a large playground within a massive park, so... plenty of open space. There you'll find a well-provisioned playground, with a large metal slide next to it, coupled with an open gym, and sportgrounds. Rubbish bins, water fountain, toilets, shaded seating, nearby trees for cool shade when needed, and on-street free parking. The view from the playground onto the park below is good, too, adding to the feel-well of the experience. If following Palmy's Best Playgrounds' Route, nearby playgrounds are at Raleigh Reserve and at Totaranui Park.

Great playground for our 3yo to navigate. Great mix of stuff that he could be independent on while also a few challenges.
