Raleigh Reserve is a Palmerston North City Council community park on Raleigh Street in Awapuni North, redeveloped after a 2017 community proposal led by Daryl-Anne Adams and Kim Stewart. The standout feature is Palmy's Steven Adams basketball court, opened in 2018 with nearly $200,000 raised by the Awapuni Rotary Club and supporters and named after the NBA centre. The playground sits east of the park alongside a covered BBQ area, two new Māori carvings and gardens, with dogs not permitted in the play space. Best treated as a community park stop combining play, basketball and a picnic.

The best new playground in Palmy. Kitted out with a new BBQ area, stunning pou from Te Wananga o Aotearoa, and a Basketball Court brought to you by Steven Adams. Well worth a trip to see a great community-led project in action.
