Park Island Recreation Ground is Napier's largest sports complex in Poraiti, home to multi-code clubs across rugby union, football, netball, cricket and hockey, and the city's emerging Sports Hub. The rugby-themed children's playground sits near the Napier Marist clubrooms and caters for toddlers through 12-year-olds with swings, climbing frames, a tunnel slide, carousel and an adjacent mini bike pump track. Ample parking serves the sports fields and playground.

Great football pitch for all grades. And if there’s an event on, then grab some superb food truck offerings!

Great spot to go running whether its around the sports fields or the concrete paths or adventuring up and over the hills past the cemetery where you can get some awesome vantage points. There is different exercise stations set up along the way too. Awesome for walking the kids and dogs. We love coming here as a family.
