This playground is one of the faves in our house. All the things the kids love to play on. Toilets close by, ice cream not too far, beach for when they need a break or cool down.

The Ōrewa Reserve playgrounds sit in a row along the Hibiscus Coast Highway behind Ōrewa Beach, one of Auckland's most popular family beach destinations. Three play zones cater from babies (shaded swing pair to the north) through toddlers and older kids (sand-base swings, slides, wooden climbing frames with rope ladders, nets and a four-swing set in the south), all fenced near the road. The wider reserve has free gas BBQs, picnic seating, outdoor fitness equipment, toilets, a large car park and the 6km Ōrewa Beachfront Path along the dunes; a consistently well-rated beachside day-out spot for families.

Not the best playground for younger kids, you are better off just heading down to the water
