Marton Playground (officially Te Āhuru Mōwai) opened in 2022 as Rangitīkei’s flagship destination playground at the Memorial Hall on Wellington Road. Built by Rangitīkei District Council with local iwi and a community-led fundraising drive worth $1.3m, the play space includes the longest swing set in New Zealand (at opening), a three-sided climbing tower with high slide, a sand pit with water-play feature and a varied swing line-up for different ages, all under shade. New accessible toilets and parking sit beside the Memorial Hall.
