Awahuri Forest – Kitchener Park is a Crown Reserve on the Feilding town boundary at Kawa Kawa Road, protecting one of the few remaining areas of lowland semi-swamp podocarp forest in the Manawatū District. The Awahuri Forest Trust manages a yellow boardwalk loop and a white dirt-trail loop alongside the stream, through specimens of kahikatea, tōtara, rimu, pukatea and kōwhai (until recently NZ’s tallest kōwhai). Natural ox-bow lakes, regenerating wetland and clearings make it ideal for short walks, picnics and birdsong. Dogs on lead, no off-track wandering.

Awahuri Forest Kitchener Park is near Feilding in the Manawatu District is a delightful great place for nature enthusiasts. On my recent visit it impressed by its tranquil beauty and diverse ecosystem. Very great place for a walk, you can take dogs and kids for walk, it also tells you the trees around the park, it's a nice place to walk and chill out, got cool things to look at on the walks, it has toilets that are long drops, I would sure recommend this place to anyone that wants a great place to go, I always put things to help people find good places to go and enjoy what is out there. I think it's important to post things that can help people 😊

Beautiful walks around park. Very popular with dog walkers. Wooden walkways and great information and facts about the trees and what they are and how old they are. Great for families
