Khandallah Park Childrens Playground sits inside Wellington City Councils Outer Green Belt Khandallah Park, one of the oldest reserves in the city. The well-shaded play space at the entrance includes a flying fox, spiderweb climber, swings, slides, a seesaw, and a sandpit, with the sun-heated outdoor summer pool, a stream, picnic spots, and a cafe close by. Forested walking tracks loop up the maunga (about 4km, 2-3 hours) for older legs, with free parking on Woodmancote Road and Clark Street. A combined heritage nature park and play stop rather than a typical neighbourhood playground.

The playground was great. At the start of the walk to the viewing platform the trail was incredibly Muddy and slippery. Wonderful view up there and lots of native birds to be seen. I enjoyed watching the Tui's playing in the trees.

Lovely playground in Khandallah area, right by the Khandallah summer pool. It is also located near one of the entrance of the Northern walk to go up to Mt. Kaukau summit. It’s clean and well maintained. When we hike up to Mt.Kaukau summit, the kids who don’t hike wait and play in this area.
