Gilbert Young Play Area is a Wellington City Council reserve at 60 Fraser Avenue in Johnsonville, spread across a large grassed area with mature trees providing natural shade. The play space combines a separate toddler zone with a large swing set, a tall pyramid climbing structure and a maze, with an adjacent sports field providing extra room to run. Picnic seating and parking on site make it a comfortable family stop. Best treated as a relaxed local park visit for mixed-age groups.

Loved that most of the grass was high for pollinators. Plenty of space to run around, play ball, be wild. Picnic table and bin provided. The equipment could do with a bit of paint soon but is still in ok Order. No busy road next to where kids play,yet parking close by. Perfect and we will certainly stop again here
A very cool suprise playground that we came across on a walk. The climbing frames, swings and playground toys that kids can play with . Lots of parking available. Abd access from 2 locations. There are bins available for rubbish. A nice surprise and fun place to take your kids
