Isel Park is a 6-hectare heritage Victorian-era park in Stoke, Nelson, set around Isel House (built 1848 for the Marsden family, now a heritage house museum). The grounds feature English-style gardens, a heritage tree walk through century-old specimen trees and vibrant flower beds, plus the Nelson Provincial Museum's research facility on-site. A children's playground sits within the woodland park, alongside picnic spaces and walking paths.

In Isle park where magnolias bloom, A soft, sweet scent dispels all gloom. The trees stand tall, in robes of white and pink, A fragrant love upon the breeze, I think. I gather petals, fallen from the bough, Each one a promise, a whispered vow. Of palest pink, they form a perfect heart, A symbol of a love, a work of art. The sunbeams filter through the leaves so green, Illuminating this serene, sweet scene. A heart of petals, fragile, pure, and new, A tender tribute, a love song for the world.

Great place to walk the dog out just relax. Beautiful flowers and gardens. Quiet spot. Be aware that the river is just next to the park if you have young kids with you.
