Hyde Park is a Horowhenua District Council 0.4 hectare neighbourhood reserve at the corner of Grey Street and Whittaker Street in Shannon. The park is a residential play space with traditional playground equipment and picnic seating, popular with local kids after school and at weekends. Best treated as a quiet local stop for Shannon families.

Nice little playground to stop at. It has everything you need: water fountain, toilet, baby change table, picnic tables in the shade which is great for small children and snack time. The playground is colourful with plenty of swings, whilst not overly modern it reminds me of a true kiwi playground that I had growing up and the nostalgia is there. Great place to stop if your travelling up or down the country

Old rundown and boring playground. Swings constantly squeak. They put a caterpillar then removed as was rubbish. They put some sign language thing up which seems strange for this area. Not a fun upgrade. Best thing there is the bbq picnic table and toliets. - Says no dogs but dogs are there all the time. Please build a big fun Fort and more options for under 3s!!!! Think of the kindy kids accross the road.
