Heathcote Domain is a four-hectare sports park at the base of the Port Hills in Heathcote Valley, Christchurch. The playground sits alongside soccer and cricket fields and is best known for its flying fox, with a multi-play climbing structure, slide, swings, swing bridge and roundabout rounding out the equipment. Public toilets, picnic spots and on-site parking make it an easy stop before or after a Port Hills walk. Visitors describe it as a good combo destination for a kickabout plus a longer play session, with the flying fox a particular draw for older kids.

Playground with swings, slide, old- school seated merry-go-round, climbing frame, and flying fox. Suitable for preschool and school-aged kids. Public toilets on site also, and picnic tables, plus water fountain.

I visited the park in Heathcote and overall, it's a great place to spend time outdoors. The park offers a fun-filled experience with a flying fox, swings, and a slide, perfect for kids and those wanting to relive their youth. The availability of bathroom facilities is convenient, ensuring a comfortable visit. Despite that, the park's atmosphere is enjoyable, making it a delightful spot to have a good time with family and friends. With a little maintenance (and modernisation), it has the potential to become an even more fantastic place to cherish wonderful moments. I look forward to returning and experiencing further improvements!
