Eastern Beach Playground is a fully fenced, nautical-themed Auckland Council destination playground on The Esplanade at Eastern Beach in Howick, across the road from the beach itself. The play equipment includes slides, climbing frames and nets, swings, a rocker, seesaws, tunnels and a noughts-and-crosses interactive panel, with upper-body strength obstacles and balance equipment scattered across the play space. The playground is fully fenced from the road and sea, with two entrances (The Esplanade and Hostel Access Road), picnic tables, park benches, public toilets, drinking fountains and a beachside cafe close by.
