Blockhouse Bay Beach Reserve (Āmio / Blockhouse Bay) sits at the bottom of Endeavour Street in west Auckland, with the beach at its edge. The pirate-themed playground has a sunken pirate ship, long tube slide, climbing net, swings, rockers and seating, sheltered by mature pōhutukawa trees and on grassed lawn. The reserve also has BBQs, outdoor showers for swim rinse-offs, accessible toilets along a wide footpath about 40m from the bottom of the street and shallow high-tide swimming - well-rated as a family beach day-out stop for toddlers and primary-age kids.

The beach and grassed open space provide plenty of room for the kids to run around. Toilets, a barbecue, picnic tables, and seating make it the perfect spot to relax or have a picnic. Flat walkways run through the park along the coast and connect to the playground and accessible toilets.

Good area for kids playing but could have more playing instruments like others nearby playgrounds.
