Bishopdale Park Playground is a Christchurch City Council park on the corner of Harewood Road and Leacroft Street, anchored by the iconic late-1970s fibreglass elephant slide that gives it the local nickname Elephant Park. The play space also includes a climbing wall, multi-play structure, flying fox, springer horse, obstacles, seesaw, and swings, with a skate park and basketball half-court alongside. Picnic tables, drinking fountains, benches, and public toilets ring the park. Well-regarded across Christchurch families as a destination heritage playground; arrive before 10:30am for the quieter toddler window.
