Westburn Reserve sits on Westburn Terrace in the Burnside suburb of west Christchurch, a 1-hectare neighbourhood reserve best known for its road-safety bike park. The mini road system is set up with roundabouts, give-way and stop signs, a railroad crossing, pedestrian crossings and a one-way bridge for learner riders. Alongside is a fenced-feel playground with a tall slide, swings sized for big and little kids, a seesaw and a merry-go-round, plus picnic tables, open lawn for ball games and toilets; locals rate it as a top spot for kids learning to ride.

Westburn Reserve and Kids Bike Park is a great park for kids! I highly recommend this park for parents that are struggling for ideas of what to do during the weekends. I bought my niece and nephew here after finding it on the city council website. This park/reserve features a fun play ground with a big slide and see saw set as well as a bike park which has a one lane bridge and railway crossing (both are fake and completely safe). This reserve also has public toilets onsite and a picnic table for families.

5 and 7 year old girls "Where's the slide gone, Dad?", "Dad, these swings rubbish" sadly the fun police have taken the old slide, swings and see-saws away. Now it's just another crappie baby park.
