Yaldhurst Nature Playground is a Christchurch City Council nature play space at 120 Sir John McKenzie Drive in the Yaldhurst Park subdivision, designed by Glasson Huxtable Landscape Architects. The play space combines timber logs, boulder play, climbing logs, a mound with slide and tunnel, a digger and swings within a newly planted reserve of Canterbury native trees and an ecologically enhanced riparian zone. An attached sensory garden sits inside a ring of natives, with a picnic table and on-site parking under shade. Best treated as a destination nature-play stop in west Christchurch.

Some great climbing things for my toddler. Couldn’t use the slide as it is in direct sunlight and it was scorching! Probably wouldn’t go here again in super sunny/ hot days as there isn’t any shade. Have to park down the street a little as there is yellow lines on both sides directly outside the playground. Overall pretty good, some nice grassy areas surround it too.
