Tinwald Domain is a 98ha Ashburton District Council park just off State Highway 1, home to a children’s playground, a duck pond with a bridge to McTague Island, a disc-golf course, basketball and tennis courts, an arboretum and 4ha of open space for cycling and rugby. The Plains Historical and Vintage Railway, Lynn Woodworking Museum and Vintage Car Club rooms are within the grounds, along with picnic tables, public BBQs and toilets. The local domain board is rebuilding the former pool site into a family fun zone.

A very fine and cute little lake. On a sunny early summer day, the sight of a flock of wild ducks playing happily in the lake is really relaxing and healing. There is a sports ground and playground next to the lake. There's a small road to drive in. I found signage stating that no cars are allowed at night, but Google Map doesn't show this road or navigation.
