Papatakohe Park is Waipas newest destination playground, opened February 2025 in the Bridleway Estate subdivision off Hugo Shaw Drive in Cambridge. The 9000 square metre footprint is split into three zones for pre-schoolers, young kids, and older children, with a tall climbing tower, in-ground trampoline, flying fox, accessible carousel, water play, swings, sandpit, basketball court, and outdoor workout equipment. Built by Waipa District Council and developer 3MS at a $3.7 million spend, it has quickly become a regional drawcard and is well-regarded by Cambridge families. A genuine day-out destination rather than a quick neighbourhood stop.
