Methven Domain

Methven Domain is the main sport and recreation reserve for Methven and the wider Ashburton District, sitting on the north-east edge of town between Kilworth and Mackie Streets, about 300m from the centre. The domain hosts a range of clubs - rugby, touch, football, cricket on shared fields, indoor squash courts, multi-use tennis and netball courts, and bowling and croquet greens - with a small neighbourhood playground (refreshed in 2023) alongside grassed areas for passive recreation. It is a working community sports hub rather than a destination playground.
