McBride Park is the central reserve of Lake Hayes Estate near Queenstown, named for an early settler family and accessed off Hope Avenue, Rere Road and Onslow Road. The site combines a large grassed sports field ringed by an asphalt cycling and pump-track loop with a popular family playground featuring a flying fox, slide, swings and sandpit, plus a small bike park for beginners, a mini multi-purpose turf used for basketball, hockey, tennis and football, sheltered BBQ and picnic seating, curved stone landscape walls and toilets. It is well-regarded as a family hub for the wider estate, suiting both younger kids on the play module and older kids on the pump tracks.

Beautiful park with pristine clean public toilets- the only ones I'm aware of in Shot Over Country & Lake Hayes estate 👍🏼😊 …

Nice playground. When the children are out of nappies-the slide becomes less favourite, as bumpy, and they feel it when sliding down. Not everyone is bothered by it, though. The new improvements and recently built fort is great, wooden surfaces can be slippery when wet or frosty
