The Matairangi Nature Trail Logs and Slide is the headline play station on Wellington City Councils Matairangi Nature Trail, a 500m buggy-friendly loop near the Mount Victoria summit at Alexandra Road and Lookout Road. Habitat stations along the trail use the bittern, dragonfly, eel, gecko, and weta as the theme for treehouses, slides, and climbing logs that invite kids to step, jump, slide and climb between native bush stops. Step alternatives keep the route accessible, and toilets and benches sit at the northern end. A well-regarded nature-led play experience and a fun stop on the way up Mount Victoria.

It's very cold over there with lots of breeze from the sea and many spots to take beautiful photos. The best place to ride bicycles and they have a special trail in between the bushes and also we can walk down the path. The view point is quite high and the bus 20 is the only one which takes you there. And it is not so frequent.

Beautiful place indeed . Apart from awesome sights there are some excellent running tracks around the grounds .
