Marriner Street Playground sits within Marriner Reserve on Marriner Street in the Highbury suburb of Palmerston North. The standout feature is a miniature railway operated by the Palmerston North Model Engineering Club, running 1pm-4pm on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in summer (1pm-3pm in winter). The reserve has a neighbourhood playground, shaded picnic benches, landscaped walking paths and on-site parking and toilets - a quirky family stop best known locally for the model trains rather than a destination playground.

I did not go to the playground but the adjacent railway, very clean and tidy park, great for the family.

Nice little park. Across the field is another small park and a children's library
