Longhurst Playground sits on Hamill Road inside the modern Longhurst residential subdivision in Halswell, south-west Christchurch. The fenced play space has plenty of climbing equipment and grassy hillocks, a drinking fountain, swings and a secure grassed kick-around for kids over about 3, with walking links to outdoor fitness equipment and bridges over the landscaped swale. Cafes at the Longhurst shops are a short stroll away - well-regarded as a relaxed local family stop rather than a destination playground.
