Kids Own Playground is Mastertons premier destination playground in Queen Elizabeth Park near the corner of Dixon Street and Memorial Drive. Built over six days by around 2,300 community volunteers (with enough timber for six houses), it features a fenced toddler zone behind the main turrets, swings, slides, accessible equipment for wheelchairs and prams, a large spiders-web climbing frame, and a giant flying fox upgraded in 2020. The wider Queen Elizabeth Park also has a miniature train, mini-golf, and a skate area. A genuine community-built destination playground for the Wairarapa.

I’ve been too many parks and playground’s around the North Island and I can honestly say that this entire place (Kids Own Playground) in Masterton is absolutely STUNNING! PNCC needs to take tips from the Council down here because this is perfect!
