Hinemoa Park is a 6.1 acre Waimakariri District Council park in Kaiapoi, accessed from Fairweather Crescent and Belcher Street and named after the historic Hinemoa Hockey Club. The park combines a sizeable playground, bike track, basketball court, toilets, and parking with open lawn for ball games. Hockey was first played in New Zealand at Kaiapoi in the 1890s and the womens club took the Hinemoa name. A well-regarded family park rather than a destination playground.
