Hammond Park is a Hamilton City Council riverside reserve in Riverlea, threaded by boardwalks along the Waikato River and into the native bush of the Mangaonua Gully (home to the rare NZ long-tailed bat). The fully fenced natural-themed playground sits beside the river with a basket swing, double slide, balance beams, rockers and a spinner. A small beach along the Malcolm Street section is a summer swimming spot; entry from Balfour Crescent, Riverlea Road or Malcolm Street.
