Essex Reserve is an Auckland Council neighbourhood park on Ngauruhoe Street in Mount Eden, a couple of blocks from the village cafes and shops. The Playground Centre rebuild centres on a ship-shaped rope-net climber for multi-level climbing, joined by a timber log seesaw, a triple swing with flying-saucer basket swing, slides, and a modular play set on bark fall surface. Park benches and picnic tables ring the play space for caregivers. A relaxed inner-city Mount Eden stop rather than a destination playground.
