Hare Puke Park Destination Playground sits on Hare Puke Drive in Flagstaff, north Hamilton — opened 2019 and immediately named New Zealand’s Playground of the Year. The eel-themed design packs in a giant climbing play net, slides and trampolines for younger kids, a sand-play zone with winch buckets, a green obstacle course for older kids and a pump track for scooters and bikes. Swings, picnic tables under shade sails, parking and public toilets sit alongside.
