David Lange Playground is the centrepiece of Auckland Councils David Lange Park on Bader Drive in Mangere, recognised as one of New Zealands top destination playgrounds. The volcano-and-lava theme runs through coloured mounds and a giant Kompan tower, with a Robinia Kaianga Village, agility trails, in-ground trampolines, carousels, a double flying fox, music play equipment, and a fenced toddler zone with interactive panels. Inclusive features include accessible swings, a wheelchair-friendly carousel and trampoline, and accessible toilets, with the design developed in partnership with artist Clynt White (Wahi Wairua) and Te Akitai Waiohua iwi. A basketball court and skate park sit alongside. Park hours run 7am to 9pm in summer and 7am to 7pm in winter, and the playground is well-regarded as a genuine day-out destination.
