Cog Park is a grassy Wellington City Council reserve at 391 Evans Bay Parade in Hataitai, split into seaward and landward halves by the road and named after a large cog wheel from the historic Patent Slip nearby. The fenced grounds are popular for picnics, joggers and dog walking, with a fenced off-leash dog exercise area on the landward side and sea views across Evans Bay. Free parking lines the road, with Hataitai Beach and Evans Bay Yacht Club close by.

Great spot for a walk while pondering terrifying existential crises. Nah but in all seriousness, this spot is pretty serene and you can chill out here for ages in nice weather. There are even a few boats bobbing around at sea most of the time which is cool. You can even go for a swim just around the corner at Hataitai beach if you're that way inclined. On top of all of this you get a neat view of the Wellington sign off in the distance.

So lovely park, a lot of space good for picnic, while enjoying the view of the sea that has a lot of floating boats. also a lot of trees too to cover you from the sunlight.
