Buchanan Park is an Auckland Council Maungakiekie-Tamaki reserve on Arthur Street in Onehunga (entrance also off Victoria Street), beside DressMart shopping centre. Set on the site of a former Chinese market garden and named in honour of the long-serving Buchanan family, the park combines a large open lawn with a refreshed playground including swings, slides, brightly coloured monkey bars, a four-way tyre seesaw, and a climbing frame with slides. Picnic spots are tucked among the shade trees. A relaxed local Onehunga stop rather than a destination playground.
