Brooklands Park is a New Plymouth District Council heritage park sitting alongside Pukekura Park, with a children's playground centred inside the free Brooklands Zoo (opened 1965). The playground sits on the site of the former peafowl enclosure and offers swings, slides, climbing structures and a sandpit. The wider park also includes the Bowl of Brooklands natural-amphitheatre concert venue, free-flight aviary, capuchin and cotton-top tamarin enclosures, the endangered red-panda habitat and walking trails through mature trees.

What an asset to New Plymouth and Taranaki this park is. Absolutely adored wandering around... the birds and animals are the stars, for sure. Lovely gardens, too. And the fresh fruit soft serve ice cream from the van there... best I've ever had! Wonderful way to spend some time.

pulled up and it was already packed. lights coming through the trees as well as music bouncing around lowkey unreal vibe. you sit there shoulder to shoulder with strangers but it doesn’t feel weird. Really shocked that was in np sound actually carries so well, you don’t even need to be close. one of those places where you forget your phone exists for a bit and just stay there longer than planned. feels very np summer coded. such a good memory spot.
