Broad Park is a Christchurch City Council Waimairi Beach playground at the end of Broadpark Road, right beside the dunes and Beach Cafe. The play space packs in a 1990s-style wooden fort, flying fox, climbing nets and frames, swings, seesaws, sand pit and water-play features on a cushioned safety surface, with wheelchair access and designated parking bays including self-contained vehicle stalls. Toilets, picnic tables and beach access sit alongside.

A really lovely clean beach with a playground for multiple ages, responsible freedom camping area, cold showers, minimal toilets & a couple of rubbish bins. One late night party goer spoiled the atmosphere for a while, but other than that a nice place to freedom camp for up to 4 nights. Be aware the parking spaces are standard length with no extra room
Sheltered park with beach access. Two forts, swings, slides, and flying fox. More suitable for kids 4+. Plenty of parking around. There's a cafe nearby and the day we went a Mr Whippy van was parked up in the car park near the public toilets and drinking fountain.
