Bethune’s Gully sits at the northern end of North East Valley in Dunedin, where Norwood Street meets Lindsay Creek, named for 19th-century butcher David Bethune who once owned the land. The reserve is the trailhead for the 4km Mt Cargill walking track through pine and native bush past Hall’s totara and rimu, with a 580m climb. At the carpark sit picnic tables, BBQs, toilets and a small children’s playground beside the bush.

This place is an amazing track to get up to Mount Cargill. I would like the pictures to do the talking instead of me describing this whole place. The walk up is amazing - you'll truly enjoy every moment (especially on a very very good day) There is a park , a place to do for your BBQ (during summer).
