Anderson Park is Cromwell's premier recreation and sports ground, a 9-plus hectare reserve developed in the 1980s as part of the Clyde Dam project. The destination playground pulls families from across Central Otago with swings, play mounds and tunnels, a modular play unit, a seesaw and a flying fox, suiting toddlers through to intermediate-aged kids. The wider park surrounds the playground with three full-size sports fields, tennis and netball courts, the Central Otago synthetic hockey turf, the Cromwell Swim Centre, a sports pavilion and fitness centre, plus the Anderson Park Rose Garden and Water Conservation Garden. Easy to combine with a swim, a sport or a wander through the gardens.
