ADeane Park is a small heritage Central Hawkes Bay District Council park on the corner of Wallace Road and Porangahau Road in Waipukurau, gifted to the borough in 1922 by J B ADeane in memory of his mother. The 6048 square metre traditional park has a neighbourhood playground tucked beside the gardens, with picnic seating, public toilets, and shade plantings. The 2008 upgrade involved the ADeane family descendants. A relaxed picnic-and-play stop rather than a destination playground.

i’m not here to talk about the park, but about Waipukurau School. Recently, I saw that Google has blocked reviews for the school, and I wanted to share my experience anyway. Waipukurau School has been the most welcoming school I have ever been to. Over the 6 and a half years I spent there, it never once let me down. As a former student, I can honestly say it’s a great place to learn and grow. The teachers and staff are supportive, and the whole school feels like a friendly community. I definitely recommend Waipukurau School to anyone looking for a positive and encouraging school environment. Harper Smith
