The Lakes Waterpark is a free Tauranga City Council interactive water playground at Pakanga Grove in the Pyes Pa end of The Lakes subdivision. The site is built around an Archimedes screw, miniature river channels, water pumps, wheels and a network of levers and handles that let kids divert and dam the flow, alongside embedded climbing rocks with little bridges, grassed lounging areas, swings, picnic tables and toilets. Bring a change of clothes; popular as a summer cool-down stop rather than a traditional playground.

Bit tricky to find but the park is awesome! Hands on water activities for young ones, swings and plenty of space to run around. There are big picnic table sized seats you can sit on and rubbish bins nearby. Half a dozen car parks out the front. Worth checking out
