Sir Victor Davies Park is a central New Plymouth city-centre park on Powderham Street, set along the Huatoki Stream as part of the council's restoration of the Huatoki corridor. The park combines open lawns, mature shade trees and flower beds with a children's playground tucked alongside walking paths that thread through native plantings and interpretive signs. The central location makes it an easy CBD stop rather than a destination playground, and the stream-side setting suits a low-key picnic or walk. Open 24 hours.

A nearly 7km walk from the coast to the levee following the Huatoki River. Gentle incline along a mostly well-formed track through urban, lowland coastal forest and open grassland. There aren't any shops along the way so take food and water.

Nice and peaceful walkway through the heart of New Plymouth. Sections of the walk follow the river through town. Great place to walk a dog
