St Omer Park is a quiet lakefront amenity park on Lake Esplanade in Queenstown, around a 15-minute walk from the town centre with paved pram-accessible paths under weeping willows beside Lake Wakatipu and Remarkables views. The playground caters to all ages with swings, slides, climbing frames and interactive equipment, alongside BBQ cooking facilities, picnic spaces and free parking. Less crowded than the Queenstown Gardens, it suits families wanting a calmer lakeside stop.

Saint Omer Park is a great spot if you’re looking for something quieter and less crowded. I really appreciated how peaceful it felt compared to other nearby areas. One thing that stood out is that the ground is mostly stones and pebbles rather than sand, which made it easy to dry my feet without ending up with sand in my socks—small detail, but surprisingly nice. It’s a simple, relaxing place to take a break by the water and enjoy the scenery without the crowds. Definitely worth a visit if you prefer a calmer park experience.

Beautiful place with great views of the lake and the mountains in the background. You can walk along the shoreline for quite some distance enjoying the tree covered paths and the lake. Occassionally you can see the steam boats plying in the lake.
