The Playground at Sports Reserve sits inside Hanmer Springs Sports Reserve, accessed off Chalet Crescent or Jacks Pass Road (behind the Health Centre). The Hurunui District Council reserve has separate playgrounds for younger and older kids, plus a skate ramp, tennis/netball courts, an exercise circuit and big grassed playing fields - ideal for a kick-around or scoot session. Toilets and changing rooms are at the sports pavilion clubroom, with car parking off Jacks Pass Road; a relaxed local sports-and-play stop a short walk from the hot pools.
