The Ocean Grove Playground sits on Tomahawk Road in the Ocean Grove (formerly Tomahawk) suburb 6.5km southeast of central Dunedin, beside Tomahawk Beach and the Tomahawk Lagoon wildlife reserve. The playground here has been part of the Ocean Grove Recreation Reserve since 1953, with swings and standard play equipment alongside soccer and cricket fields and walking links to the bird-rich lagoon and Smaills Beach; a quiet local coastal stop rather than a destination playground.

This area overlooks the St Kilda beach and can be booked out for events. The entirety of the drive up to Lawyers Head is open to vehicles between 11am and 3pm on weekdays, bollards are closed outside of these times making the area pedestrian only. Bollards are also locked on public holidays.
Located in good location but could do with more play equipment. Had to find the swing hidden under large trees. Sea close by if wanting to include a black walk.
