Ngawhetu Reserve is a Tauranga City Council neighbourhood reserve on Caldera Crescent in The Lakes subdivision of Pyes Pa, with a large duck pond home to ducks, geese, and pukeko as the focal point. The playground includes a flying fox, climbing pieces, swings, and slides, alongside outdoor BBQs, an outdoor classroom area used for Learning Through Discovery programmes, picnic shade, and toilets. Well-regarded as a layered family stop within The Lakes ring of reserves rather than a destination playground.

Most of the equipment is for five and under but the flying fox is quite quick. Toilets and a cafe are close, but no shade.

Small but nice spot for time out.
