Mission Bay Playground sits in Selwyn Reserve on Tamaki Drive in central Auckland, right beside one of the city's most famous beaches. The Bean Rock lighthouse-themed play space caters from toddlers through primary-school age with sun-shaded climbing structures, sandpit tunnels, two junior slides, rocking seesaws and diggers, all sheltered under mature pōhutukawa trees. The wider reserve offers picnic tables, BBQs, drinking fountains, outdoor fitness equipment, toilets and changing rooms and a free carpark; it is consistently rated one of Auckland's best beachside playgrounds.

Best playground for kids. Really well maintained and close to nice restaurants.

This playground has evolved in the last decade. The facilities are brand new. However I do prefer the older version without the sandpit tunnel.
