Lorenzdale Park is a Whanganui District Council park on Swiss Avenue in Gonville, gifted to the city in 1923 by Nicholas Meuli in memory of his son Lorenz who died in World War I. The accessible-design playground sits on poured rubber and includes a wheelchair-friendly merry-go-round, bucket swings, climbing walls, sensory panels, plus a basketball court and gas BBQ under a Skillion shelter. Mature trees give plenty of shade and picnic spots, making it a comfortable all-ages stop. A well-regarded inclusive playground favoured by Gonville families.

Playground is getting a little worn. Basketball court usually has glass on it. We usually leave when others arrive simply because I don't want my kids around the language that is usually the norm.
