Flaxmere Park is Hastings District’s flagship community park, twice named Recreation Aotearoa Active Park of the Year and a Green Flag award winner. The fenced destination playground packs in an octagonal tower with climbing chimney and tube slide, fire-truck play piece, flying-saucer swings, an inclusive carousel, gyroscope, sand digger and a splash pad, with a skate plaza next door. Beyond the play space sit football and cricket fields, a ki-o-rahi field, nine-hole disc golf, adult fitness stations along a walking and cycling track, picnic tables, a free community BBQ and a pond.

So many fun things to do at the park now. Partly sheltered with a sunshade. Skate park and water play area. Large climbing frame and slide. The larger park area contains walking tracks, gym stations and disc golf. There is also a basketball court for hours of fun.
I've seen a lot of people, families, kids enjoying small water fountain. Good for walk, biking even motor run here. Has 2 public toilets, you can find wild duck roaming in the middle of the park. Volleyball, Cricket and any outdoor sports. Seen some gym machines with instructions you use free.
