Avonhead Park is a 23-hectare Christchurch City Council park in west Christchurch on Hawthornden Road, with a 2km perimeter walk. The children's playground sits within the wider park alongside a basketball court, a dirt bike track for older kids, expansive open lawns for picnics and casual sport, accessible toilets and drinking fountains. The park connects to nearby reserves and the scenic Avon River for extended walks.

Great place to have a walk, play or walk your dog! Huge park where you can do your daily walk or run, physical activity and dog walking. Everyday a lot of people come here and enjoy their time. In sunny weekend, people also play football and rugby. There is a beautiful memorial in their just beside the graveyard. It also has a pre school close by. I enjoy the view and walk every time I go at the Avonhead park. ❤️
