Albert Park is a historic 18th-century-influenced central-Auckland public park bounded by Princes, Wellesley and Kitchener Streets, set above the city on the original colonial barracks site. It features sealed walking paths through mature heritage trees, a Victorian cast-iron fountain (1881), a band rotunda (1901), statues of Queen Victoria and Sir George Grey, and open lawns popular with university students and CBD workers.
